With pun intended, Nunsense is a greeting card series turned musical that follows a group of nuns in their quest to secure funds for the burials of their 52 "accidentally poisoned" sisters. Ironically enough, after Mother Superior has a vision of starting a greeting card company to raise the money, she carelessly spends what she thinks is the extra dough on a plasma TV for the convent. The journey takes multiple left turns when the sisters decide to raise the money through a variety show starring kooky characters like former circus performer Reverend Mother Regina, wannabe ballerina and more outlandish nuns with outlandish pasts. Witness a metatastic performance of show inside a show at the Courtyard Theater in Plano as you watch tap and ballet dancing, star turns and participate in an audience quiz. With more than 5,000 productions worldwide, this originally Off-Broadway show became the second longest running Off-Broadway show in history and won Best Off-Broadway Musical, Best Book and Best Music at the Outer Critics Circle Awards. It has become an international phenomenon that has been translated into 21 languages.
