Social Security
Allen's Community Theatre
1206 E. Main St. Allen
Trendy Manhattan art gallery owners Barbara and David Kahn's lives are upended when Barbara's sister deposits their eccentric mother, Sophie, on the couple's doorstep so she and her husband can head to Buffalo to rescue their sexually precocious teenage daughter from a menage à trois. Barbara and David introduce Sophie to suave 90-something artist Maurice Koenig, who offers to paint her portrait -- and soon begins to add spicy color to her life in ways she never expected at her age. Written by Andrew Bergman -- who also wrote a number of big-screen hit comedies, including Blazing Saddles, The In-Laws, Fletch and Honeymoon in Vegas -- Social Security shows that it's never too late to fall in love.
